Creative Youth Partnerships has now completed its initial 3-year pilot stage with further funding secured for the 2007/2008 period. Through CYP, young people from across Northern Ireland have had opportunities to participate in high quality creative arts programmes including dance, music, drama, visual arts, literature, film and digital media projects. Participation is open to all schools, colleges, youth clubs and youth and community groups. A CYP Development Officer is employed in each of the Education and Library Board areas, working closely with local bodies to increase participation and build community arts partnerships. This CYP databases offer arts programmes by individual artists and arts organisations, covering an extensive range of artforms. All artists on the CYP database have; Completed a Criminal Records Check Submitted references for their quality of arts practice and experience in working with children and young people, Completed CYP Child Protection and Code of Good Practice training CYP subsidises the costs of CYP-registered artists and arts organisations. The cost to the school, youth or community group to obtain the services of an artist involved in a CYP programme is only £30 per half day / £45 per full day. |
