CREATIVITY : INSIDE OUT

LECTURES / SEMINARS / WORKSHOPS / SHOWCASE OPPORTUNITIES / PERFORMANCES

Creative Youth Partnerships is celebrating two successful years of innovative Youth Arts initiatives with a showcase conference in June 2006. We will be highlighting the wide range of pioneering work developed by Creative Youth Partnerships across Northern Ireland, and discussing opportunities for future development.

Creative Youth Partnerships offers creative opportunities to young people across Northern Ireland, through artist-led projects that encourage the development of creative skills and artistic abilities. The scheme was created in 2004 in the true spirit of the government’s ‘Unlocking Creativity’ strategy for the development of Northern Ireland as a creative region, and is a major cross-departmental initiative by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the five Education and Library Boards.

Delegates for the conference will be drawn from a wide cross-section of disciplines, including formal and informal education, voluntary and community and the cultural arts and leisure sectors. The conference is free, however places are limited and will be administered on a first-come-first-served basis. Further information and a registration form for the conference can be sent to you by post on request.

Our Key Note Speakers on the day include:
Tim Rollins, Kids of Survival, NY.
Nick Randall, Youth Arts Consultant, Researcher and Project Manager, UK
Dr Jonothan Neelands, Reader in Drama & Theatre Education, Institute of Education. Deputy Director of Research, National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, University of Warwick.
