SYNOPSIS:
A visual art, creative writing and animation project which cumulated in
an anthology of writing by children and young people, several claymation
short films and a Braille sculpture. Inspired by the place they work,
live and play the children and young people wrote poems and short stories
about what affects them in the present and their hopes and dreams for
the future. The children also interviewed Bert Annett about days gone
by. The poems and stories were collated into an anthology with accompanying
images which the children painted. Then some of the pieces were translated
into short claymation films. The anthology and original paintings have
been loaned to the Square Space Gallery to be incorporated into a Belfast
City Council exhibition on friends as part of their Friendship Festival.
