SYNOPSIS: A visual arts and landscape design project which culminated in a new garden in this inner city school which can also be used as an outdoor classroom and performance space. The young people began work with their art teachers to brainstorm a wish list for their new garden and worked on creating small ceramic creatures to be placed within it. Kyle Gallagher then worked with the kids to draw their own designs and incorporated what they wanted into the final design, The young people then worked with artist Martin McClure to create a 13 panel mosaic and ceramic mural based on the theme of creatures. The young people worked with Conservation Volunteers and the Colin Glen Trust to turn the plain grass knoll into a garden which the teachers, pupils and the wider community can use to eat lunch, sketch nature or hold musical concerts in the amphitheatre style part of the garden.
