SYNOPSIS: This project consisted of an intensive week of circus skills with young people who had already had some instruction in circus previously. The project culminated in a performance and a DVD. A circus week for young people who had already had a taste of circus in the Autumn term having completed a pre-circus week, cross curricular preparation work pack & research project. During this week the young people worked with a team of professional circus and performance artists in the creation of their own circus performance. They trained, rehearsed & created all aspects of their performance; from costume & prop making to intricate team building through hat routines & human pyramid building. Through the use of the pre-project work pack each young person also worked on a group research project that was cross curricular covering history, politics, PE, Social studies, art, theatre and health & safety.
